Bendigo September 7 L2

Recommended Posts

Had an excellent day out today, ended up with I think about 16 starters for loop 1 and 10 finishers for loop 2 .

Although posted at L2 the riders in attendance were competent and we were able to move a bit quicker, which saw us smack out loop 1 in just on 2 hours, with loop 2 similar although it rained got a tad greasy, I got yet another flat.....might some merrit in Cluffie’s previous comments to me regarding starcross and tubeliss system....might have to try a different rear tire and see what’s what!!!

A few decided to call it quits with “man flu”, night shift last night, a cut/grazed arm(not bad but it would have hurt) I heard some boiled rear brakes etc....

But all in all was great to meet new members and see some I haven’t seen for a while.

I enjoy putting on this ride and seem to always get a few takers, I’ll look to put it on again in 6-8weeks or thereabouts.

Thanks to the boys that swept and thanks for everyone for coming out and having a great day on the bikes.

100k ride all done with no major issues!!!

I didn’t see much as I was leading so hopefully others can chime in and share their experience/perception of the day.

Anyways cheers people....until next we ride!!!

Thanks Habs, great fun track and ended up 45km each way once I cleaned up the gps bread crumb line, it did get a tad slippery on the second loop, but it was amazing how quick that little bit of Sun dried it out.
The 501 was nice to me and never spat me off, and that little push we had just before you swapped bikes was a highlight, thanks to the sweeps , not that I did it long.

Thanks Habs for putting on the ride, and the sweeps too.

Qbanger & I thoroughly enjoyed our first Dirtriderz ride as Vic residents.

My muffler decided to pop off towards the end of the ride about 6ish kms from base.

I carried my new bodywarmer & putted along to the next regroup. habs was kind enough to help with a bolt to replace the lost one and I loved being able to have a blat on the last stretch home.

We will be keen for the next adventure out there.0e0f6ef0113d2e3651eaf34042923d60.jpg&key=d0ab4853f02c0935bd6c905c4593e1d9ae05bad09a2f8021b970cccb647be7fa8144ab969ff0f0a43de1d0798f4d5e32.jpg&key=677a21154389ba2897dd79c95270dc078e1128589a46b46caa0fcfe810ff815decafa8bc72269a95b05ee677a128f768.jpg&key=f311e95848dc2eb2912f36dc57e9e7465baef9369f145eec196b7d00109014ca2dd57b16f7d39c566aa73cfb82e136f2.jpg&key=75813ca1606409d5366bb012e815785cdf2a5dd8872ae5fdf3412eda49a2a6f8

Thanks Habs for putting on this ride.

I took over sweep duties from Raff as I was happy pottering around at the back and could tell he was going to itching to put the 501 to good use on the flowing tracks.

On the return leg of the first loop, Coggs took a tumble in front of me after misjudging a drain and banged his knee and forearm. Hope the shower wasn't to painful and all heels well, need you in one piece for the Grand Final ride.

The second loop was interesting from a slow sweeps point of view. We lost ktm3002t about 10 minutes due to a lack of rear brakes. A bit of rain meant the tracks got slippery but this didn't seem to slow the group down. The group would take off and disappear from view. I would meet up with the cornerman before they too would set off at a fast rate of speed. With such a competent group I just potted along at the back and enjoyed the ride.

Thanks to everyone that came along, it was good catching up with members I haven't seen for a while and also meeting some new faces.

Until the next one be safe

Cheers mate, glad you made the right decision to call it quits after loop one and not push on.
Recover well, remember every scar is another story you can tell people.

Glad to hear so far that everyone enjoyed the loops(s)

Next one will probably be 6-8 weeks away -

I need to spend some time reacquainting myself with my favourite ride destination.
