Which Tyre 505 or 525 for the rear and what for the front cheers.

525 Cheater in a 120....I wouldn't recommended them:P. Minimum Maximum 8psi to get the best out of them..

Front...whatever you are comfortable with, l stick to a Michy Starcross soft

Jono I can’t commit on the Shinko 505 BUT iv been running the Shinko 525 Cheater 120-100-18 rear & the Michelin Starcross 5 Soft 90-100-21 front for the last couple of years and have been very happy.

I run the Goldentyre fatty on my 300 which I put on after 1 ride with the stock tyre. I was immediately aware of the heavier steering and gyroscopic effect of the larger tyre. But it is sooo much better in ruts and over obstacles it’s worth it. I wouldn’t put one on my 501 or if I was doing a lot of fast tracks. But that’s just me, a trail hack.

I run the Shinko Fatty on the front and 525 cheater on the rear, excellent combo emoji106.png

How many klms do you get

i just put on the fatty front and new tube after pinching it 4 times.  Whilst changing it.   Lost my touch.    :adulazione-01:

As as for the rear 110/100/18 cheater 525.    I don't do much intense single track mostly 3-4 gear trails

river crossings etc.   with the odd single track day.

Fresh hoops here we go:P

What bike do you ride Adste?

The reason I ask is the 525 Cheater 110-100-18 is a very narrow tyre, more suited for a low capacity bike like a 200,150,125.

I find the 110/100/18 better for cornering as opposed to a 120 plus wide rear tyre...

Mate your going to kill that 110 Shinko with 1 ride on a 450 doing 3-4th gear, the 525 Shinko is a soft rubber compared to the bridgy x30 witch is a intermediate tyre plus the x30 110-100-18 is a wider tyre then the 525 110-100-18.

Imo you should of went the 120-100-18, I destroyed my 110 Shinko on my 250 in 4 rides .

The 120-100-18 is unreal for grip and wear 50hours and she still hooks up.

Had a few rides old 525 120-100-18 given to me to try out.

Got to say I am really impressed. Rode the slippery red clay of Narbethon yesterday in the rain. And it didn't miss a beat.

My flogged out front tyre on the other hand was doing its best to slide out from under me tho.:P
