WOMBAT 2+

Recommended Posts

Arrived very early as usual to take my time gearing up and my brains wired for working tradie hours so no choice really.

Everyone promptly rolled in followed by the usual banter piss taking to set the mood which continued throughout the day,all geared up with bikes revving in anticipation I realised my GPS loop was missing the starting tracks and IanM’s bike wasn’t starting OH S@:T I said to myself. We left Ian to turn his kill switch into an alive switch while I navigated my way to my loop with a few pauses here and there and eventually finding my bearings. A few flowing tracks and then received a call from Ian all sorted he said ill meet you out there.

We ventured onwards and upwards with a good flowing group and some of my gumby moments to entertain the masses which included a freakish double whiskey throttle into a ditch bloody hilarious I thought.

Part of the loop was returning to the first of the three sisters to have a play with less traction where Crusty350 showed us how its done and then a few of us eventually getting up after having a go at all.

We had covered around 50ks when Ian escorted 3 riders back and 6 of us took the long way around ending at the cars and then down to the Greendale rotunda for a BBQ and some stories with a froffie or 4.

Thank you to IanM for taking us through some tracks Harrydaggers and Stinky for BBQ and fine cheese and crackers also good to meet new member Mitchell all the way from Swazzyland. Oh and Badbadger aka Digger for the beers once again.

Till next time peeps

Just knew today was going to be great day when i made it 14km into the city without one red light.

And then the car and bike fill coincided in perfect timing "Freaky".

Unfortunately that didnt transform into any outstanding riding skills on my part.

Really light misty rain on and off all day had most with googles off after the wipers ran out.

Hit the deck 4 times in 20 mins trying to get out of one the of sisters and crashed on the chicken as well. "Sigh"

Good news is i think i rode better after that.

Thanks Andy for organising and the sweeps too... Good Stuff!

So great day out then the BBQ put on by the boy's, cheese and biscuits "no wine" but not needed, snags and drinks and plenty of banter, great day out.:D

Huge thanks to Andy for posting this ride up. There hasn't been many rides on lately so it was good to be able to jump on one this weekend.
Great bunch on blokes, heaps of laughs. A lot of slippery logs, a few creek crossings which is always good. Good mix of tracks and we'll put together so smiles all round.
Thanks Bad Badger for sweep duties.
Looking forward to catching up again for sure

Great ride, thanks Andy, greasy-yep but our sweep the extremely bad Bad Badger did'nt seem to do much from what I saw other than do what apparently Badgers do! Thanks also to our other leader Ian M and glad you were able to get the Sherco fired. Good crew, Mitchel hope your not feeling too sore today. Well done Crusty getting up that climb, it took some effort, my highlight was not bailing towards the back end of the ride earlier with some other riders. Moment of the day was hesitating at a reasonable size greasy log, Hoff passed me and went straight over it, annoyed at myself I hit it and cleaned it, thanks for the incentive mate. Thanyou all that attended.
