Husaberg rear brake lock up

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys

I have a Husaberg fe 550 that has an issue with rear brake lock up on down hills could this be related to a hard suspension setup?

What happens is when braking on loose gravel without much pressure the rear wheel likes to lock up or scate around making it uncontrolable.

I have another bike (two stroke) that I dont have any issues with at all.

Any help would be appreciated thanks

They are very touchy with not much feel before the skid/lock up from standard but can be tamed with a solid rear disc. I run one on my bike and rate it highly

What pads are you using

sintered

semi metallic

organic

I’ve found organic pads give the best feel but wear fast

Sounds like the pad brand as long as your rotor is ok. Clean the rotor anyway with sand paper then brake cleaner to get some consistency.
Get some organic pads to try if you don't ride in wet muddy conditions as organics don't like it wet. They have more progression and give you weaker braking with the same lever input in comparison.
