CB RADIO DAYS - WHO REMEMBERS THEM ??

Recommended Posts

Back in the day, before mobile phones, we used to plan our rides via cb radio,  then after the ride, we used to get home and talk about the rides and have a laugh via cb radio.....

Once upon a time, it was not uncommon for at least a handful of people in the street to have either a home base or a mobile set up...

Good times,  good memories...!!

Baaad.
I used to love chatting to people via cb.

Then I discovered hf radios.
You can make phone calls from them. Or could.

Even listening to a scanner to the airport and emergency services.
Listening to all the crime areas etc etc

Could/can make phone calls off "trunking radios" they used to be very handy in the bush or remote places where there was no mobile phone coverage..

There has to be more people on here that were into it back in the day...

I even found some of my old 27mhz radios at my old mans last week... kind of collectable now..

Yep...I started there also. Channel 14 LSB. Used to love it..this sense of connection from afar, it just seemed real. So much better than TXT.

I'm into ham radio these days..I love it. Every now and then I get on and have a chat with someone interesting on HF.. usually 40mtrs(7MHz). IC7000, little tarheel ii antenna.

Late 70's and in the 80's my dad did heaps of country k's and put a CB in his car.

On the weekends my brother and I used to get on there, in our mid teens, and chat to anyone that would listen.
