Friday Grand Final Mt Dissa Ride

So ill get the ball rolling, Started off at the 5 ways junction, 25 of us started the lvl 2+ ride. Started off pretty casual did the right type of tracks to get the blood pumping and got into the groove a little bit. Nearly lost it a couple of times but managed to power through. At the end of the track the guys were slowly coming out and one them was muddy head to toe from being roostered by someone unintensionally (so he says haha) after a quick spiel we headed off again, did some more tight and windy stuff lots of bogholes and tree roots along the track. Did this for a couple of hours or so. Awesome fun! As we were coming up to our first stop there was someone just off the track, he managed to fall off his bike and it landed in a small lake. Wait for the pics! At a clearing we all stopped waiting for his bike to be salvaged, had a quick bite to eat and all of us saw trials bare butt relieving himself. At this point we had done about 30 kms. We then left again, did some more tight stuff with bogholes and roots everywhere. We eventually got pointed into a creek bed which was interesting, i've never done anything like that at all. about halfway down the track passed someone going over there bike. Didn't think much of it at the time. About 2 km passed that point i got put onto a corner. And there i stayed for 30-40mins. Back where i had passed someone had taken there bike for a swim and drowned it . (terrible with names). Finally got moving again and regrouped at the bottom of hamburger hill 1. To give you a picture for the guys that were there. I was on the Yamaha with learner plates. First attempt up i seemed to be doing all the right things. Avoiding people that got stuck and moving along quite well till i ran out of places to go. and stopped behind someone who lost momentum. Back down i went. Second attempt i got complacent and tried to rush bouncing all over the rocks like a pinball trying to accomplish this hill, failed again. I started to get tired at this point and was just making mistakes that shouldn't have happened. dropped the bike one last time and bent my front brake lever. Didn't make it up. Always next time though! It was startinng to get late in the day so we started to make our way back to the cars. Did some track we had done earlier in the morning just in reverse. Got back to the cars and got packed up. Had an awesome day guys, Thanks to Coggs for leading the ride, to Dusty for sweeping and all the guys floating around to help out the guys in trouble. Spewing i had not taken any photos but theres always next time. Cheers

  10. So on the weekend had an off and managed to puncture a hole through my clutch cover. Pulling it all apart there were shard of metal that i was able to get out. But there are really fine bits of metal and wood in there what would be the best way to clean all of this out without doing anymore damage to the internals? Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

  12. So last couple of rides my bike was satring to hesitate on throttle. So decided to pull out the carby and take a look. After getting it out and taking a quick peek i relised all the screws for the float bowl were rounded[emoji21]. So i just took off the sump sprayed carby cleaner in it and tried to clean it out as best i could. Put it back together and it wouldnt start or idle and backfired and carried on. I did a little bit of reasearch and all it seemed to be was out of tune. So watched a few vids, alot of help from cruiser i got it to what they said was the correct setting for my bike. Still didnt work. So i pulled the carby out again. After a lot of cursing i managed to get these screws out. Found lots of fine dirt in the bowl and the pilot jet completely blocked so i fuxed that. I then went and bought an extended fuel mixture screw which made adjusting it so much easier. Best $20 i spent. Put it all back together (with new screws) fingers crossed i went for a quick ride to warm it up. There was no back firing but still wasn't idling. Brought it back in turned the idle screw up a bit watched another vid on tuning and finally got it running sweet. Welcome to dirt bike riding i thought. Working on the bike as much as i have ridden it haha. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
