  1. Newbie from Officer

Howdie Wahoo. I'm from officer too. Been on any rides yet?
  2. Neerim - 16/12 - Level 2+

Just want to start out by saying thanks to Iconic for putting the ride on & all the Dirtriderz in the back ground that make this platform possible. I doubt i would be riding without it. I woke up at 5:00 with ants in my pants keen as to get going, and had to fumble around the house killing time before leaving for the day. Ended up finding my way to the car park a little after 7:00, just in time to hear Ripperz come screaming in from a distance, on the pipe. I knew i was in for a good ride. Started unloading and getting ready as the other guys turned up, then some quick introduction and we were off. On the first track i felt like a koala, I was eating so many trees branches and leaves. Got sent off line by a few roots and dropped the husky more than once. started to get some sort of groove towards the end & found a little more confidence standing up. The next loop i actually surprised myself getting up a rutted, short little corner hill (although i think i pooped myself half way up). Then i saw the rock wall in the video above and took delight in watching Ripperz & Iconic show me how a dirt bike should be riddin. Both of you guys seemed like you were just playing around it looked that easy. I inspected the ground with my face once or twice more and got a few tips from Badger (thanks!!) that i tried to put into practice and felt like i was getting somewhere towards the end, but given i had spent more time in the dirt than a break dancing worm, thought i better call it quits with my fitness not up for too much more. Thanks again for the awesome morning out. I'm going to try and work on my bike fitness, and practice on my little loop so hopefully i can keep the pace up more next time. I can feel my skills slowly improving, with the help and advice from all you awesome Dirtriderz! Thanks,
  3. I've also had my eye on these, but am a little worried as I'm a bit of a heavier bloke. I suppose i would have to swap out the suspension, but i would probably have to do that no matter i got. The main appeal to me a lower, lighter bike to pick up all the skills on before graduating to back to a full size enduro. I prefer technical riding as opposed to wide open, but i still have a lot to learn before being quick at either and see this a good stepping stone. And everything i have read has been positive. Everyone reckons they are so much fun...

  9. Ozzylas Gembrook level 1 + ride

Thanks ozzyla for organizing. Was nice heading out somewhere close to home and I will definitely be back to nash creek again and maybe find a couple other loops around the same difficulty. The play hill was good too. Just went up and down once cause I didn't want to push my luck, but would mind heading back again in the future. Kind of glad we didn't do anything too gnarly because I've been before when it's too wet and it's like riding on ice with that red clay!! Thanks again, for organizing & Shane for sweeping most of the day. And also to all the dirtriderz giving me advice so I can progress. Much appreciated. Hopefully one day I'll be good enough to pass on what I've learnt. Now I think it's off to a suspension specialist. [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Great ride and great friendly atmosphere. I found the terrain and pace suited me perfect. I was still able to pick some difficult lines or push a little quicker to test myself, but never really felt too daunted by anything. Really helped build on my confidence and skill level. I did find myself fairly buggered by the end which i put down to just not being bike fit - perfect remedy is to ride more often!! Glad i could help out with the flat tire by offering up the spare tube i had too. Was a good learning experience as a mechanical noob watching the tire change. I think i may just be able to handle it if I had too. I surprised myself cruising over some thicker logs without too much trouble and getting up some steeper hills, although as the day went on my technique definitely suffered - again, just need to ride more!! Big thanks to Trailz for organizing and being a friendly host, Bear for leading, Dazz (love the bike!!) and Simmo for sweaping. Apart from the few mechanical problems had on the day the ride had a nice flow with the 2 person corner man system working and giving us who needed it a minute or two breather. Couldn't have asked for a better day out. Can't wait for next one!!
  14. Hi

Hi Rwc frank. I have a 2012 husky 310, still a four stroke, but I am pretty happy with how light it is. I'm in officer, so just around the corner and you would be more than welcome to come for a beer and a look. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
