    R.I.P TAZZY

A very sad day. Condolences to his family and young kids. If you've got a road bike get rid of it. I hate them with a passion, I know too many people taken from the simplest of mistakes on a road bike. You make a mistake and crash on a dirtbike, you break some bones.
  2. The day after I had my hook plate in I picked up my new bike that id already ordered and I had to sit there and look at it for the better part of 4 months... now that sucked big time. My op was pretty much exactly he same time of year as yours 2 years ago.
  3. I had an AC Joint hook plate. Goes in and stays on for 3 months and then is removed. I was racing 4 days after it came out, no pain was just the cut. It looks like you have the extra tendon as well so I would think this would be even better for you again. Big arse scar but who really cares.
  4. Hey Walks, The amount of time you spend in the sling is dependent upon the type of fracture and surgical techniques that were used - a simple fracture can be mobile fairly quickly, while a complicated fracture will need more time for the tissue to strengthen before it can tolerate being mobile. Given that your clavicle was fractured in 3 places, it may need to be immobilised for longer to ensure it can heal 100%, and 6-12 weeks is standard protocol (for complicated surgery and fractures). Mobility after surgery is absolutely dependent upon the integrity of the tissue. If the tissue is still weak, then prematurely pushing it to deal with the pressure of being mobile can tear the tissue, which will severely slow the recovery process and increase the risk of future complications. Hope this helps mate. Cheers, Rus [emoji24][emoji24] Looks like my riding will decrease and forum posting will increase.
  5. They closed the other store at ferntree gully and still had all the stock from there. It's been hanging around in store for a fair while so like most businesses would do they are trying to clear it even if it's at cost to improve cash flow.
  6. Shit Walks, that is a hell of a job that you've done there mate! Let TheDoc and I know if there's anything we can do to help, and we'll sort out whatever we can asap! All the best with your surgery on Tuesday, and the rest of your recovery. Look forward to hearing about your progress and improvement. Heal strong, and heal well. Cheers, Rus Got the op done today. All went well and the pain level is pretty manageable. They are saying 6 weeks in a sling which doesn't sound right to me. I thought they'd want me to get it out and mobile between weeks 2-4
  7. Does rosebud have practice day's pay and play sort of thing? i used to live in rye for 25 years but never had a bike till we moved out bush. but we still go down often to see the i laws and catch up with friends. ibe been wondering about going to rosebud. cheers cam They've actually got a club cross country on this weekend on Sunday. Last time I did it it was 2 x 1 hour cross countries using per of the moto track and the paddocks out the back. I only did one last year and didn't do the second one. You might like to do the same. This is a great place to start your preparation and will be a real eye opener in a safe and fun environment. Thinking about doing it mates...was last year's one a good one? Yeah last years one was really good fun.,
  8. I've got the Starcross sand front and rear. I used it at Golden Beach 6 hour and it was awesome! Took it straight off and will only for it when I ride in proper sand.

My hey have twighlight practice days on at the moment on a Tuesday and they open sometimes on the weekends. They announce it via Facebook.
  11. Yeah I agree, I've been pushing the boundaries and my riding had been going really well too. Turns out I found that boundary. It was only a little mistake that had big consequences. I've learnt the hard way to always set up early and never shift at the base of a jump.
  12. A YZ250F is a perfect bike for golden beach. Yeah sometimes I would have loved a 450 to pull me out of the sand but not that often It's a great event and one of my favorite races of the season. In my opinion the sand is most like the sand at Krusics however I think the best training for sand like that is tidings really deep sand because after that golden beach sand is noting but fun. Try Rosebud MX track. If you start to get used to that sand golden beach will be easy in comparison. I used to hate riding at rosebud, it's really hard and you realize just how shit you are but it's great practice.
  13. So I had a big one last week. Missed a shift coming out of a turn into a double and hit the limiter at the base of the upramp. Lost drive, suspension uncompressed early and sent me flying nose first coming up just short and being pile drived into the dirt by my bike. It's the worst crash I've ever had and I've paid a fair price. 2 fractured vertebrae 5 broken ribs Punctured lung Bruised Heart Left collarbone broken in 3 places. Spent most of the week in hospital but I'm out now but have to go in to get the left collarbone operated on Tuesday morning. The jagged edge of the bone is poking up and nearly piercing the skin out the top of my shoulder Really outdid my last injury but I think the recovery time will be less.
  14. Yep, that's exactly what I was thinking at the time.
  15. Here's the full video of the powertech special test on day 2 of the 4 day. M Not sure the video does it justice for just how rough it was, I ended up loving this test
