Need some advice....

I found out a while back my boss is mates with the importer of Sherco off road bikes.

I like to be a bit different when it comes to bike choice. I ride a KX250F in bush FFS LOL

I know nothing about them, and im not sure on the price yet but

Are these things reliable??

Good to ride?

Sme of you guys have ridden with me, should i go the 300f or 450???

All help would be appreciated

I have bought a used 09 250. I would recommend the 300 as they are the big seller in the range, but only if your used to and are happy with power of 250/300f's. Cost is about $12700. The 250 and 300 are nearly the same. As i have only done 2 rides, take my advice as a general guide only.

The good

Very light
Powerful motor
Handles good
Outstanding brakes
Light clutch
EFI = smooth power delivery
One of the better looking 250's

Not so good

No kick start backup
EFI had some gremlins (previous owner)
Resale value sucks if you buy new
Boutique bike, accessories harder to find
Unlike KTM and Jap bikes, not many dealers for them

Powerhouse motorcycles in Pakenham have been very helpful so may pay to have a chat with them. Parts havent been a problem, they run Husky rear sprockets and the brake pads are used by many other popular brands. Force make rad guards and bash plates. MSC is making me a fitting kit for me at the moment so i can mount my steering damper. Ask me again in 12 months time on how reliable they are. Overall they have a lot going for them but do your research.

Robktm of DBW has a sherco 300.
Think he's pretty rapt in it:)

They sound like they rev pretty hard :)
....so if ya like to twist and rev lots a 300 would be awesome:pephula2:

The 450 does come with a kick starter.

Always been interested in Sherco since they arrived to the enduro scene and started coming 2nd in 450 reviews against the ktm450. Haven't met anyone who rides one yet.

$13000 ride away. There should be some good deals on the 010 250's. I believe Powerhouse has a kit to convert the 250's into a 300. If you want to take mine out for a test ride let me know.

Are the 300's just kitted 250's?

ive have been riding my sherco 450 for little over a year now and with out talking any shit it would be the easiest bike i have ever ridden they go relly good they stop even better the only thing thats not that good is the fuel tank size but if you have an opportunity to ride one and you were after something that is different and not orange you will be very surprised
