I have Alpinestars Tech 7s. I looked at Alpinestars first because I previously had a pair of their road boots and I found them very comfortable and durable. The Tech 7s were comfortable when I tried them. Overall I am happy with them, but the buckles are very difficult to remove out of the little clip after you have actually released the buckle and I have to use a screw driver to lever them out. I also find them very stiff to the extent that I have virtually no feel for the brake lever, but I reckon this is probably common with dirt bike boots.

Spray your buckles with silicone spray mate - you'll be amazed!!!

I use Tech3's at the moment and the silicone spray definately works :)

I just got myself some Forma's basically because the price was right and they were right in front of me.... And I got the I wants!

I went to a factory in Seymour who has started importing them to grab a pair for the young bloke for xmas and left with some for myself as well.

Not much to say really.... Italian made, pivot with shin protectors, I really like them. 1 day riding and they felt perfect.

Plus.... $490 normally, I payed $280!

I like it alot :D
I might be Troy Lee... but unfortunately, I didn't design it.

Does anyone know anything about identity theft ??? :-)

I also purchased a pair of Forma boots from the Seymour factory outlet and got them at a very good price. I looked at them on eBay first and decided it was easier to go around the corner and get them. They are very comfortable and i'm very happy with them too.

Recently got some tech 7s...comfy boot.not as tall as some boots I've had previously( fox 5) makes it easier to walk or run. Not that you run a race... But when helping others or kids it's a plus. Buckles ok.. If you are patient...sole appears to be wearing from pegs after half a dozen rides... To be expected

There's a trick to the buckles though I think ... you have to show them no mercy when unclipping them ... otherwise they can be a struggle ..

Its been a long time between drinks and in the early years never wore bike boots. Borrowed some manky, heavy ill fitting boots at the end of last year for the blat in the bush. They did the job, but i paid the price with regard to pain and blisters.

I bought myself some Crossfires for xmas, comfy, light and stong :)

Love my crossfires for comfort, but really lack the ankle support of the tech8's (old tech8's anyway).

Its funny. I have alot of trouble with my left ankle from past abuse. But have not had any dramas with ankle support from my crossfires.
I'm starting to think its a wifes tale. as you don't hear ankle support problems from other "flex" boot brands. Some are no where near the quality or strength.

and yes silicone does work on the buckles.

havent had any injuries with the sidi's and i havent put the old tech8's back on - so hard to be too harsh on the sidi's. i really like them: very comfortable from day 1, were very 'water proof' when new and are still very good after 2 years, and u can replace heaps of components. That said, when i had only experienced the tech8's, i struggled to imagine how people cld bust ankles from the impact of a jump (at least from the low heights i manage, anyway), but i have had a few times where i have got it a bit wrong in the sidi's and felt a bit of pressure in my ankles. only my thoughts :)

While on this topic, anybody know where i might be able to source new buckles/clips for Thor Quadrant boots?
Have had issues with a couple of the buckles from day one and sick of having to gaffa them up on each ride.
Interestingly enough, have seen a few other guys with them having the same problem....
Have searched the intermenet high and low to no avail....

I have the Tech 8 which is a good fit for me. No buckle problem but water does find it's way in easily it seems. I tried the Sidi's on at the time and the fit was not as good for me. I would take a look at the Gaerne SG12's if looking for new boots now, but have never tried them on.
